My failures and learnings

Here’s my failure resume

“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.” — Thomas A. Edison

Some of my failures and learnings

Failure 1: Trying to do everything at once.
Learning: Measure, prioritize, and eliminate. You can’t do everything great. Choose what to focus on. Question, be very strategic, and think big. Communicate the plan across the team (with repetition) and manage expectations.

Failure 2: Rocky relationship with an agency. Agency’s project management didn’t work. Things felt chaotic, and deadlines didn’t stick. After several feedback rounds, the underlying problem stayed unchanged.
Learning:  If something doesn’t work, make changes sooner than later. Keeping things the same rarely makes things better.

Failure 3: Focusing too much on internal work and less on building networks in the industry.
Learning: Network, network, network. Creating a great brand requires an environment where others cheer for you. You want relevant people to include you and your brand in relevant conversations. I’ve learned to build networks, and partnerships, and ask for introductions.
